How to Develop Good Writing Skills in English

>> Tuesday, January 25, 2011

English is the foremost spoken language in the whole world. That's why it is absolutely crucial for you to know how to develop good writing skills in English. Unfortunately, not everything can be learned from the classroom. A little extra help can go a long way.
Here are some ways on how to develop good writing skills in English.

Download Exam Drill of English Language for Vocational School

1) Read Books.
If you're an avid reader, then this should not be a problem for you. Reading books helps you get a better grasp of the English language. You're able to see how people use certain words or construct sentences apart from the examples on your language handout or references. Plus, you'll also gain more confidence in your own writing style.
If you're not a fan of books, you can always read short stories or feature articles online. Even some magazines will help you develop good writing skills in English.
If you want to develop good writing skills in English, you're going to have to write something at some point. A lot of people who keep journals are able to practice their English very well. If you prefer typing to actual writing, that's not a problem either. Your writing skills will not be impeded by whatever method you choose to use. If you don't want to write a diary, try writing essays. In my case, I often enjoy writing "what if" essays. Ask yourself a "what if" question and answer it in essay form. This way, you won't run out of ideas and tire of the exercise immediately.
3) Put Your Work Out There.
Part of the ways on how to develop good writing skills in English is feedback. A lot of people fear this stage because they don't really want to hear others criticize their work.
However, that is part and parcel of the whole process. It's like the story of "The Emperor's New Clothes." Do you really want to live the rest of your life wearing no clothes just because you can't handle a little honesty?
It's natural to be a little apprehensive about showing your work to others, which is why I suggest you only show it to those people who you really trust. They will give you the honest feedback you need without mocking you for your efforts.
Even successful authors need to keep learning how to develop good writing skills in English. You can't remain stagnant just because you're too lazy to read or write or too afraid to hear what other people think. You have a lot more potential than you realize.

Street Food of Bali

Like most South East Asian countries, Indonesia is proud of its vibrant street-food culture. Growing out of necessity, road side stalls offers busy Indonesians on the go everything from a quick snack to a satisfying meal cheaply and conveniently. Across Indonesia's many islands and provinces you can expect to find roadside vendors, known locally as warungs, all over the place dishing out sumptuous traditional fare. The warungs of Indonesia's island province of Bali have always been popular not only among the locals but also, increasingly, for tourists.

Bali's warungs have received a boost in recent years by being featured in globetrotting celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain's highly popular travel show No Reservations. Famous for eschewing fussy, pretentious hotel meals for simple and honest local fare, Mr. Bourdain has enthusiastically given his mark of approval to the venerable Balinese warung. One such example is Naughty Nuri's located near Ubud in central Bali. Not your typical Warung, Naughty Nuri is famous for its traditional Balinese barbecue dishes as well as tourist friendly martinis and sashimi specials.
Most warungs specialise in only one type of dish, and they do it very well. Ibu Oka is known far and wide for their mouth watering tender roast pork stuffed with a secret blend of Balinese spices and spit-roasted over an open fire while basted with coconut milk. Nestled near the beach in a picturesque fishing village on Bali's east coast, Meta Sari is a tiny warung renowned for a delicious spicy-sweet minced fish satay known locally as sate lilit ikan. Like the food, the settings of warungs are simple and unpretentious - if anything the rickety tables and thatched roofs are an essential component of an authentic Balinese street food experience.
Visitors to Indonesia's island paradise of Bali are depriving themselves of a treat if they never make an attempt to eat at an authentic warung.

I Need Help With Math!

Math. The ultimate torture for most people. Many of us struggle with multiplying numbers, solving algebra, finding angles, and more. In fact, just talking about it makes some people's heads spin. With the right techniques, math can be a less painful experience.
To get better at math, the first step is to read the section in the textbook that you have problems with. Look at the examples and see how the authors solve the problems, step by step. After getting a feel for the math, work out some easy problems. Make sure you check your answer after finishing each problem. There is no point in continuing to the next problem if you are getting the answers wrong.

Download Exam Drill of Math for Vocational School

Sometimes the book may have a few problems that show the full step-by-step solution.
If solving problems does not help you out that much, you should look for a math tutor. Usually peer tutors can be found at your school or college. These tutors are usually students - people who have been through the same class as you. They will likely know better techniques than your teacher on how to approach the math. This is an opportunity that most students pass up because they are afraid they will be laughed at. If you take tutoring, you will have better grades than if you hadn't went.
Watching videos of people doing math is also a great way to help you get in the problem-solving mindset. It is similar to tutoring, but you can watch them wherever you have access to internet.
Finally, an online study community is another great way to learn math. You can ask for help or answer other people's questions. Both contribute to learning. In fact, teaching someone else strengthens and reinforces your understanding of the material.

How to Teach English to Beginners

Teaching English is a challenging enough thing to do to adult learners. But learning how to teach English to beginners could be a tad more challenging especially if you're teaching abroad. There are special considerations that you'll have to keep in mind, and a little more patience to spare.
When you teach any foreign language to young learners, it means that you are not only going to have to teach the subject as you would in a typical classroom setup. Because of the age of the learners, you will have to constantly keep them interested. Children have short attention span, and if you're teaching English, you will have to exert extra effort to keep their attention to the subject. If teaching children is not your specialization, you should already start learning new strategies and approaches to teaching children and stacking up on different activities.

Download Exam Drill of English Language for Vocational School

If you make your classes fun and full of activities and other games that promote learning and interaction, the actual teaching part will be a piece of cake. You students will always look forward to the next lesson, and they'll look at learning English as a fun experience.
If you're opting to teach English abroad, there might be additional tests and certificates that will be required of you. Educational institutions abroad may require you to take TOEFL and take up ESL to measure your competency to teach and communicate using the English language. It's better to take care of all of these early than to rush taking the exam unprepared just so you could present a certificate.
In the long run, your methods on how to teach beginners will not solely depend on what you've learned. Over time you will adapt to the attitude and temperament of your learners and adjust the lessons according to their level of comprehension.
So if you've been wondering how to teach English to beginners and whether or not you will be able to pull off teaching English abroad, just keep these things in mind so that you'll at least know what to expect when you get there and teach.

The Future of Our Banking System

After the market meltdown of 2008, and the sudden realization that our Banks were exposed and faced bankruptcy, our Governments stepped in and bailed many of these Banks out with taxpayers money, effectively taking over their debts.
The old pre-crash Banking system was complex, large Banks became internationalized with the Global Economy, and often used depositors savings to hand out loans to consumers outside their own national boundaries. As these banks grew, so did the need for profits, and credit. This ended when markets realized these profits were based on overvalued property prices and stocks in the US and the UK Technically leaving these Banking giants exposed to toxic debts, and the personal debts of creditors due to over-extended credit.

Download Exam Drill of Indonesia Language for Vocational School

Governments stepped in buying shares in some cases or in other cases effectively taking over these banking giants that dominated the old era of fast Globalization.Technically keeping Banks open that lost trillions of dollars in speculating in a false bubble economy.

Many people were angry, those in debt and unable to obtain further credit faced personal bankruptcy, whilst the sudden realization that our Bankers who are traditionally pillars of good money management, had turned out to be as short-sighted and bad at money management as a compulsive gambler in a casino. Many Bailed out or Nationalized Banks are in reality Global Banks. Citibank are a good example of this, with a presence in most Countries in the World. In most cases large Banking concerns have an 'autonomous' Branch in each Country, which often means that they are protected nationally, rather then Internationally:

In the last Banking crisis in Argentina, depositors found International Banks closed, and their savings gone. Irrespective of the fact many of these banks were profitable outside Argentina, leading to a trend were Argentineans today prefer to deposit funds in a protected local Bank.

With Governments effectively "owning" many of these International Banks, these overseas "Branches" could be sold off to localized interests. This was the case of Morgan Stanley that sold off its Asian-based Branch to a cartel of local Investors. This should cut the excess fat off these bloated, over-exposed Banks, and bring in additional income that should help to lower their huge debt levels. Therefore technically severing ties of these autonomous regional banks, that still remain profitable, locally.

Selling assets raises money, and could help relieve the burden nationally these failed banks have passed onto Governments via the Taxpayer. More exposed Banks could eventually become 100 percent owned by our Governments. As debts mount, and the banking system is reformed.

Governments in the long-term claim these toxic Banks will be eventually privatized once they are downsized, and profitable sections of these banks are sold off. This depends on an economic recovery, as our Governments technically bought these Banks according to the current share value.Once the share value increases, and exceeds the original price technically these shares could be sold at a profit, bringing in extra revenue to our Governments. In theory this has happened in the past, Indonesia is an example:

After the Asian Crisis of 1998, Indonesia had hundreds of exposed National Banks, that were either merged or taken over by the Government. These Banks were reformed, as local Banking laws governing Banks were. Then many were sold off at a profit to the Government, through the local Stock market. The irony of these Banking reforms were that the Banking giants that are currently broke and indebted in our Countries, took over and bought into many of these Banks.

Therefore Internationalizing the Banking system in Indonesia, although except in the case of ABN Amro, no International Bank in Indonesia has collapsed or been bought out by the National Government.

This action was requested by the IMF that granted Indonesia billions of dollars in emergency loans, loans the current Government are still paying off today.

One question still haunts both our Governments and confused taxpayers: What happens if our Economies do not recover?
The effect of huge Bank bailouts has meant that these toxic Banks are in fact owned by our Governments. Many Governments state officially they have not been nationalized, but are technically National property. If a recovery fails to materialize, then Governments can simply take over these Banks officially, by either buying out the remaining minority shareholders or by declaring them National property.

This is the worse scenario, as our Governments officially own our debts and in regards to housing, any property these banks own through private Mortgages.

In economic terms if Banks are completely Nationalized, then Governments control the money supply, our debts, businesses and housing. Our Economy would turn into a command economy. We still will "own" our private property, but only if we can repay the debts owed to these new State Banks. In an extreme scenario our Banks could be merged into one single State Bank. It could also lead to strict controls on monetary policy, and in Countries worse affected by the Crisis, even a change of currency. The new reality we face is that Bank bailouts, have created a dependency on our economy recovering, otherwise we could face living in a State that has been forced to become Communistic in order to survive a complete financial collapse.

Discover the Secret to Learning Math

Many people believe that you have to have a knack for math in order to do well in it. However, understanding the basic principles of math does not need any innate talent, or a genius intellect. What
it does need is a change in attitude, and a solid foundation of basic skills on which to build.
Mathematics worksheets can help you provide your preschooler with a solid grounding that will help them conquer math.

Download Exam Drill of Math for Vocational School

Not a big secret to most parents, but sometimes we are unaware of the influence we have on our children. How often have you sat faced with a list of figures - balancing the check book, credit card statement or filling out tax forms - and muttered about how much you hate math, how hard it is, how you just don't have a head for math? You need to stop yourself right now! What you are telling your child is that math is a horrid chore, a difficult task, and one that you either have the talent to do, or you don't. You are making your child anxious about a school subject that they will have to do for many years - and a skill that they will need for the rest of their lives. Secondly, get your child interested in math from an early age. Math does not have to be about columns and columns of figures, and the sooner you can introduce your child to math in a fun way the better. Mathematics worksheets can help you do this, with pages of fun exercises that will teach your child the basic principles they need. This helps you, as you don't have to write out pages of math exercises and try to make them interesting - it also helps your child. A good set of kids math worksheets will present math in an exciting way, incorporating lessons of quantity, counting and writing numbers in a way that children understand and relate to. Mathematics worksheets should use different methods to teach your child the principles of addition and subtraction to make sure they understand the concept, not just learn the answers by rote. A decent set of worksheets will use step-by-step methods to help your child progress from the first steps in number recognition and counting, to more complicated sums and word problems.
There are many math-based games available in educational toy stores that will help to reinforce the principles your child learns in worksheets. Computer games can help too, but depending on the age of your child, it is best not to encourage too much computer use at an early age. Everyday activities can be turned into math lessons too. A trip to the grocery store can turn into a math lesson if you encourage your child to help you count how many items you are buying, or add up the bottles of milk as you add them to your cart.
Your aim should be to make math fun for your child and help them gain a solid understanding of the basics. Encourage your child to incorporate math into their daily activities, help them do mathematics worksheets, and then use the lessons therein to create fun activities for your child.
The secret to learning math is to have an open mind about it. Just because you hated math doesn't mean your child should, and you will be doing them a disservice if you pass your negative feelings on to them. Make learning math fun, get a comprehensive set of mathematics worksheets to make it exciting and stimulating, and encourage your child's efforts all the way. Every math genius had to start with 1 + 1, just like your child.

These calculators are unlike any tool they have used before, and can truly be compared to handheld computers. Before it becomes too overwhelming, students should consider a few tips for using their graphing calculator.
Before getting started with the graphing calculator, students should understand that this piece of equipment is far more advanced than what they have previously used. Eight Probable Economic Trends in 2011

The year 2011 is one of immense economic and social change, as the shift in economic power continues to move east. 1. Renewed Turmoil in Our Banking Sectors
Some banks still remain overexposed to potential downturns in our stock markets. This has been created by holding onto vast amounts of "investments" in derivatives, rather than previously passing on all this potential toxic debt to our governments. If there is a major crisis in Korea, or a sudden natural disaster- then this exposure could eventually led to further bank bailouts.

Download Exam Drill of Economics for Senior High School

2. A European Backlash Against Austerity
This belief could lead to more demonstrations, and the prospect of any number of European countries defaulting on their debts- the euro could still be saved, but the cost may result in an economically weakened Europe.

3. Closer ties between China, India and Russia
At the end of 2010, Russia and China agreed to trade energy and goods in their local currencies, abandoning the use of the US dollar. India also signed similar agreements, with both China, and Russia, shortly after this historic trade pact.
Signs are that all three countries could effectively continue economic expansion, and at the same time hail the start of a new renminbi, rupee, and ruble trade zone.

4. Further Growth in the Luxury Market
Despite a recession, sales of private aircraft, vacations in luxury resorts and sales of high end luxury brands continue to grow. New chic apartment hotels in Paris and the growth of luxury travel are signs that the global economy is improving.

5. Mixed Results for the US Dollar
A weakened US dollar still remains the international currency of debt and trade. this allows the Federal Reserve more leeway in printing dollars to flow into the economy.
This simple fact keeps the dollar strong, despite high national debt levels, and lack of business induced growth. Greenback values may still continue to decline, but should remain stable against some currencies, because so many nations hold vast reserves in the greenback.

6. Growth in China, East Asia and the Developing World
Brazil, China, East Asia, India, and Russia continue to register economic growth, whilst continued global de-coupling from Europe and the United States, expands as these nations improve trade with African, and South American countries.

7. Renewed Interest in Alternative Energies
Despite the rhetoric about a 'Green Energy revolution," in the developed world, 2011 could become the year- real interest through necessity, replaces forgotten promises.
This change may be brought about because of the increased cost of fossil based resources and the need to create cheap energy- as a declining energy poor United States & Europe have less to spend on these traditional resources.

8. The Rise of Cloud Computing
Austerity and cost cutting could create the need for large Corporations in the developed world to trim costs by simply locally outsourcing its IT work to outside companies, which effectively take over the billing and payroll management of a corporation, moving it online.
Estimates on this changeover by the EMU (European Monetary Union), state that billions could be saved, whilst over half a million new jobs are created.
Creating new jobs, but not in the countries where their headquarters are located.
2011 could be a year of turmoil, continued economic growth and increased austerity. As our societies are growing towards a truly global economy, the unforeseen consequences of these effects are both renewed wealth creation and increasing poverty. Where this eventually leads depends solely on how developed economies evolve during this change, and whether this is acceptable inside the homes of those adversely affected by a changing global economy.

How to Teach English to Foreign Learners

Teaching these days is becoming a very lucrative job. Especially if it's a teaching job abroad, it will be a great opportunity for you to discover a lot of new things and to earn more money than when you teach locally. For one thing, you could get to explore a different country. Second of all, there is so much culture that you could discover, so many people to make as your new friends, and so many cities and towns you could explore.

Download Exam Drill of English for Senior High School

But of course, these perks aren't without accompanying responsibilities. Sure, you get to teach English abroad and earn a lot, but it won't be as easy. Ultimately, you have to know how to teach English to foreign learners. There are different approaches to teaching learners of different levels, and all the more so if they are non-native English speakers. There are specific approaches that you have to do, and additional strategies that you need to learn. Some employers abroad even require their English instructors to have certificates in ESL and TOEFL, to make sure of their credibility as teachers of English to foreign students. Some employers may also require you to take an additional qualifying exam as part of their application process.
Just because you believe you're qualified for the job doesn't mean that you are going to adjust easily to the working conditions, the country's culture and climate, and most of all the people. So before you deem yourself completely ready to teach English abroad, consider these things and consider them over and over again until you are 200% sure about your decision.
Teaching English abroad has both advantages and disadvantages of course just like any other job out there. But you have to think about these more because you are going to teach English in another country. It won't be as easy shifting jobs abroad than when you're in your own country. It's hard enough maintaining a job here, but when you have to do it abroad, it's double the responsibility, the adjusting, and the coping. So it's better to be prepared, and you start that off with knowing how to teach English to foreign learners.

Where Are Honda Cars Made?

You've seen them in magazine ads, on television commercials and on the road. Honda is one of the world's best known and respected automotive brands. The company behind the cars is Honda Motor Company, Ltd., a multinational corporation based in Minami-Aoyama Nichome, Minato, Tokyo, Japan. Honda designs, develops, manufactures and sells popular vehicles such as the Accord, the Civic, the CRV and many others. Honda cars are driven in many different parts of the world.

Many people incorrectly assume that Japanese cars are manufactured in Japan. Globalization has made it possible for multinational corporations to distribute their production facilities around the world for maximum efficiency. For example, even though the companies' world headquarters are in Japan, American Honda Motor Co. is based in Torrance, California. Honda has also created joint ventures around the world to facilitate operations in places such as China and India.
Honda has several assembly plants distributed around the world, each producing anywhere from only one to five different styles of automobiles. Depending on where in the world you live, and what type of vehicle you are wondering about, the actual geographical origin will vary. It is safe to assume that if you live closer to China than the U.S., the assembly plant closest to (or in) China that manufactures any given model is the one where that car came from.
Honda Manufacturing and Production Facilities
Japan
As of 2009, there were only two main manufacturing plants located in Japan.
The Honda Hamamatsu Factory in Hamamatsu, Japan manufactures cars, motorcycles and engines from the car manufacturers complete lineup.
There is another Japanese production facility located in Suzuka, Mie, Japan. Currently, this facility only produces one model - the Honda Fit.
China
The Dongfeng Honda Automobile Company, based in Wuhan, China opened in 2003. This assembly plant currently manufactures only the Honda CRV, but has plans to produce Honda Civics in the near future.
Indonesia
Honda Indonesia is the name of the factory located in Karawang, Indonesia. Currently, this manufacturing facility only produces the Honda Fit.
Thailand
In Thailand, Honda manufactures the Honda Fit in their factory located in Ayutthaya, Thailand.
Turkey
Honda has a factory in Turkey where it has manufactured cars of different styles since 1992.
New Zealand
Honda New Zealand manufactured cars from 1965 through 1998. The models that were produced in this facility include the Honda City, the Civic and the Accord.
Belgium
The production facility in Belgium makes only motorcycles.
England
In the UK, Honda has manufactured the Civic and the CRV in Swindon, England since 1992.
Brazil
Honda Amazonas Motorcycle is a Brazilian production facility that only manufactures motorcycles. The plant is located in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil and has made motorcycles since 1976.
Honda Brazil Automobile, a facility located in Indaiatuba, Sao Paolo, Brazil manufactures the Civic and the Fit.

Why Study Math?

"The continuum is that which is divisible into indivisibles that are infinitely divisible."- Aristotle
The idea that there are myriad infinities boggles the mind and makes us wonder what we really do know. As the quote implies, we can take the real number line and divide it into such small pieces, literally indivisibles, and then be left with something that is yet infinitely divisible. Wow! Maybe we should stick with more mundane stuff like how to use the latest application on our smartphones; but then, we would not have half as much fun. Take the ride with me.

Download Exam Drill of Mathematics for Senior High School

Maybe I am unusual in that I find this idea absolutely fascinating, so much so that I light up like the July 4th night sky during fireworks when I think of such wonders. That the real number line, or the continuum, as mathematicians call it, can be divided ad infinitum and yet still be infinitely divisible, or that there should exist a whole hierarchy of distinct infinities, provable by mathematical theory---indeed provable without such exotic mathematics as might be necessary so as to prove Fermat's Last Theorem, let us say---is nothing short of miraculous. When the concept of the atom was proposed by the English scientist John Dalton to explain the behavior of chemical elements, he was ushering in the age of atomic theory. To wit, the word atom comes from the Greek and means "uncuttable," or "indivisible." It would seem that any subcomponent should be made of something, much as any living cell has subcomponents which we call organelles. These subcomponents are made of subcomponents and one could extend this argument ad infinitum. The question becomes, "When does it stop? Well enter the real number line.
The continuum, as we have heard it called, exhibits the same uncanny quality of being indivisible yet infinitely divisible. Case in point: no matter how small we shrink an interval, we can yet infinitely shrink it further. To make this point a bit more clear, let us relate this to the size of atomic particles. An Angstrom unit is 10^(-10)m which is one ten-billionth of a meter. Although the exact size of the electron is not known, it is known that its size is less than 10^(-13)cm. This is five powers of ten less than the angstrom. Indeed the electron is very, very small.
If we project this size onto the continuum then we can think of it as the length of the interval from 0 to 10^(-13)cm over to the right. A very small interval without question! It is easily provable that between this interval there are infinitely many real numbers. Mind blowing! Thus we can slice the real number line however close to 0 we want and set that as our new interval. Perhaps this is the interval from 0 to 10^(-25)cm. Yet in this interval we can still find infinitely many distinct real numbers. In fact, one of the results proved, by extension of previous results, by the famous mathematician Georg Cantor, the founder of modern set theory, was that the number of distinct reals in any interval, however small, was more numerous than the infinite set of natural numbers, that is the set {1, 2, 3,...}!
Now if you are not blown away by the facts laid out in the previous paragraph then one of the following must apply: 1) you are dead; or 2) you have become so jaded by living that you really should be dead. Hopefully none of these conditions applies to you. Now whether we can keep subdividing particles this way remains as arcana only known to the privileged of an unearthly domain. Yet I believe that the outlined construct gives us serious fodder to fuel speculation about not only mysteries of the universe but also such ponderous contemplations amenable to mathematical thought.
As till now it seems that the electron is a point particle and therefore not further divisible. Thus the electron would be comparable to a point real number which makes up the continuum. Yet it does have some size, however small. We have just seen that we can slice up ad infinitum any interval, however small. The question becomes, what occupies the space in those intervals of the electron? Pure empty space or something else? Intense! Maybe we should go back to that smartphone application after all.

What Is Homeostasis

Homeostasis is a balancing act. It's the process and ability of an organism to maintain equilibrium or balance within itself. You experience homeostasis in your daily activities such as drinking, eating, and dressing.
Now, there are two different ways homeostasis is maintained. One is called a negative feedback loop and the other is called a positive feedback loop.

Download Exam Drill of Biology for Senior High School

Negative feedback loop
Your body most frequently uses a negative feedback loop. Your body experiences a change and it does something to neutralize that change. Please note that the examples below are simplified, as they talk about systems independently of each other, but biological systems work together.
Body temperature Your body wants to stay in its optimal temperature range. If you're too hot, your body sweats. You seek shade. If you're too cold, you shiver to burn more energy to heat yourself up, put on warmer clothes, as seek out a warm space. You achieved your temperature homeostasis.
Hydration Your body needs a lot of water to carry on its processes. If your body is low on water, it signals you to drink by giving you a thirst sensation and making your lips dry and chapped. When you've had enough water and your water is in balance, your thirst dissipates. Proper hydration requires enough water, and not too much water.
Hunger Your body needs food to burn to maintain processes such as body temperature. When low on food, your body gives a hunger signal. Sometimes your body needs something specific, like salt, so your body creates a craving. Homeostasis returns after you eat.
Sugar Levels As you eat, the levels of glucose in your blood increase. Your pancreas secretes more insulin to get your body to absorb the glucose.
Positive feedback loop
The positive feedback loop isn't as common., and it might be a bit more difficult to understand. The body detects a change, and instead of neutralizing the change, the body works to increase the change. Sometimes a positive feedback loop helps maintain homeostasis.
Blood clotting If you have an injury and start to bleed, your body starts to build a clot. Once your body notices it's building a clot, it works faster and faster until the bleeding stops. The clotting process, which is the reaction to the change in the body, accelerates.
Childbirth Another popular example for a positive feedback loop is childbirth. Once labor starts, your body accelerates the labor. Contractions come closer together in the goal of pushing the child out.
Food Once you start to eat, if your food contains any protein, the body will detect that partially digested food. You stomach produces more acid. It also produces more of the enzyme that digests the protein.

Building Team Chemistry

Building team chemistry is always a challenge for youth sport coaches. Trying to mold numerous personalities and different skill- level athletes into a cohesive unit is difficult, even for professional and college coaches. Expecting, often-untrained youth coaches to create great team chemistry can be asking a lot. The good news is that youth sport coaches do not have to deal with oversized egos or over paid athletes that college and professional coaches have to deal with. The bad news is that youth coaches have to deal with over-zealous parents that can put a thorn into building great team chemistry. Often, it only takes one uncooperative player or parent to disrupt team chemistry.

Download Exam Drill of Chemistry for Senior High School

Team chemistry building is a process that takes time to develop. Good coaches are continually on the lookout for teaching moments that will enhance team chemistry as well as build positive character in team individuals. With that being said, there are many ways that youth sport coaches can incorporate into their coaching that leads to great team chemistry.
1. Open communication is one of the main keys to maintaining team chemistry. Coaches who clearly explain all team rules and coaching philosophy are off to a good start in developing team chemistry. 2. Coaches should devote equal time to each team member, which makes every player feel like an integral part of the team. On the other hand, coaches, who display overt favoritism to some, often create factions on teams, which is detrimental to overall team chemistry. Even young players notice when teammates may be slighted with the coach's attention or negativity and this can be detrimental to team chemistry development.
3. Youth coaches should always watch for team members who comment or act negatively towards less talented players. Coaches should not allow any negativity to be displayed from one player or group of players towards others. Additionally, coaches should keep an eye out for any negativity displayed by parents towards players, coaches or towards other parents.
4. Teams often take on the attitude of their coach. Youth coaches who display an enthusiastic, fun and encouraging style will see their team display this attitude. Happy coaches often translate into happy kids, which leads to good team chemistry.
5. Coaches should teach sportsmanship and teamwork and watch for examples of these on their team, on other teams and in the news.
6. Team members that hang out together, even when not practicing or playing, often create stronger bonds. Coaches, or a designated parent, should organize team outings away from the game itself.
7. Fun is always a key - youth sport coaches, who can make things fun for kids, have a great chance of molding teams into a cohesive unit. Fun for athletes includes: overcoming challenges, activity, positive feedback, chances to compete, knowledge, winning and having the opportunity to win.
8. Coaches should teach the philosophy of "we." Explaining to players "we win as a team and we lose as a team" is key, as well as emphasizing the importance of each team member's contributions to the group.
9. Coaches should encourage players to "reach out" to all players so that cliques are not formed. Of course, winning teams often feel better about themselves. That should be motivation enough for coaches to the best job they are capable of to help teams win. Finally, creating an atmosphere where "kids can be kids" is important. This does not mean that coaches have to be friends with all players, but that coaches use their authority role to promote a positive experience for all, which leads to team chemistry.

Used Physics Textbooks

There is a big market for used physics books which is poised to grow larger as students all over the world realize the huge cost benefits of buying them instead of the new. Used physics textbooks are often available for as much as a 50% discount depending on their condition and year of publishing. Students of all countries are usually strapped for cash and buying these books can translate to huge savings - money they can spend on other good things in life. Books don't have to be worn or carried on one person, they are not even a style statement for most - there is really no reason why a copy read by another is less useful than a book that you are reading for the first time.

Download Exam Drill of Physics for Senior High School

New books rarely come with any discount and usually prove unaffordable for most people. Even for those that can afford a new book, it makes sense considering purchasing more authors second hand as that will allow them access to more information in the form of more books or experiences for that matter. In fact if you look carefully, you can buy book in near pristine condition. Be sure to buy through a reputed book seller to avoid finding missing pages or content at some later stage. There is always an option of exchanging the book but they cause unnecessary delay not to mention inconvenience.
It is a good idea to look at the year of publishing when purchasing used physics textbooks. There could be many additions or subtractions in the text and you don't want to lose out on important content. If major changes have been made, usually the older book is offered at a throwaway price. In case you are cash strapped, you could consider updating the book by hand when in class or with a friend.
Students planning on buying used physics books would do well to start their research a semester in advance. There is really no point buying a book and not having it when it is required.
Students who purchase used physics books can also consider referring the same to their friends. There is really no shame in using these books. Libraries in fact work on the same principle. Some students do borrow books for certain periods, as long as a semester, but this causes a lot of inconvenience to all others who may want to refer to it in that time.
In summary used physics books are a great trend that will only grow further. It is also possible to offer your own books for sale after you are done using them. Apart from physicists, very few people will want to display them or refer to them after they are done; why not offer them to online stores that can help other students.

Teaching English to Young Children

If you would like your child to master English as a second language (ESL), don't wait until he starts learning English at school. From a very early age you can lay the foundations which will ensure that English as a second language will come naturally and easily to your child.
You needn't worry that introducing English will have a negative affect on your child's native language ability: research studies have clearly shown that learning a second language does not interfere with the first! In fact there is overwhelming evidence that introducing a second language improves childrens' all round cognitive ability and overall performance.

If your mother tongue is not English, speaking to your child in English may not be a good idea as it is likely to feel forced and unnatural. Here is a list of practical steps you can take to help your young English learner to excel. These strategies can be used for introducing any language, but this article focuses on English. The author used these methods for teaching her children French, with great success.
From birth, play songs in English to your ESL baby. Bedtime and whilst travelling in the car are good opportunities. Choose songs with repetitive and catchy choruses. Just hearing the English words is great "ear massage" and the English pronunciation and intonation will become embedded in your child's cognitive awareness. The aim is to expose your child to the nuances and sounds of the language. Tunes resound in our heads long after the music is turned off, making song a great medium for language learning.
Purchase musical DVD's in English. Choose those which demonstrate the lyrics through actions. Children as young as 18 months will enjoy watching the colourful scenes while they effortlessly pick up English vocabulary.
Search for educational television programmes and DVD's in English. These are available on a wide variety of topics. Choose those which particularly appeal to your child's taste. Balance your child's viewing between English and native language programmes.
Find an English speaker - a babysitter, neighbour or friend - who could spend time with your child on a regular basis. Arrange for this person to speak only English with your child. Arm your "language helper" with a supply of English picture books for reading to your child. The aim here is not to formally teach your child English but, through conversation, reading and play, to lay down a basic understanding and a grasp of pronunciation which can be built upon later.
There are many free ESL and EFL activities (English as a foreign language) for teaching English to beginners. Choose resources that offer interactive English exercises with voiceovers by native speakers. If possible, sit with your child while he works at the computer and offer guidance when needed. Start teaching your child to read English as early as possible, especially if your native language is not based on the Latin alphabet. There are many websites which offer free English reading programmes. Select a site with interactive exercises that give instant feedback and encouragement. Choose a phonics-based reading scheme. Research confirms overwhelmingly that the phonics method is the most effective for learning to read English. A good phonics programme will teach these sound combinations systematically, giving new readers the skills to decode unfamiliar words.
If you implement these strategies during your child's early years, he will have a solid grounding in English by the time he reaches school age. Later he will be able to take advantage of the wealth of resources available free on the Internet, interact with English speakers all over the world, and become part of the international community. His fluency in English will even improve his career prospects. Your early efforts to introduce him to English as a second language child will benefit your child for the rest of his life!

Cheap Asia Travel

Traveling around Asia for more than 10 years and living in Indonesia for almost 7 years now. From my first experiences I had the feeling it was quite different to deal with domestic or international flight. For sample, in most countries when you purchase domestic flight ticket you won't get any differences price between two "one way" tickets OR one "return" ticket. Except of course a slightly discount for the return ticket.
Now, when is coming to international air travel it is harder to find Cheap Asia Travel tickets. Sometimes, you can even get cheaper return ticket. So if you plan to travel in many different cities (round trip with many transit stop) it can be hard to find good deals. However the following advice should helps you find the Asia Cheapest Flight available online.

Download Exam Drill of Indonesia Language for Senior High School

I separate this article in two parts, international and domestic flight.
First, let's talk about international flight. I suggest you to start by looking for the available airplane companies which deserve the concerned country you are flying to or from.
For sample, if you are in Indonesia and want to flight to Australia, you will most likely have to choose between Garuda and Quantas. There are possibilities to use other flights companies such as Malaysia Airlines or Singapore Airlines. But you will loose a lot of time during your trip as you will have to transit to this cities.
As you will see in the following article about domestic flight, Air Asia is one of my favorite when is about to flight in Indonesia. And this is also true when is to find the Asia Cheapest Flight as they deserve more than fifty cities in the region.
About domestic flight, I experienced two totally different experiences in Indonesia and Australia.
In Indonesia, if you want to buy a domestic flight ticket you will have plenty of choices. Indonesia is a vast Archipelago of tropical and Virgin Islands constitute of more than twelve's thousand islands. More than three thousands of these Islands are inhabited and I believe that more than hundreds of them get an airport. So, you can imagine the number of possibilities and market available in Indonesia. The main company airlines in Indonesia are Garuda (also provide international flight), Merpati, Mandala, Lion Air, Adam Air, Star Air, Batavia, etc..
Find the cheapest airline ticket is one thing, but don't forget about safety. I don't have any statistics about safety right now so I prefer not mention specifically any of them. But if you had read the newspaper these last few months, you probably know what I'm talking about. Some of the above names are probably famous around the world right now, but probably not for the cheapest airfare.... But don't worries too much as airplane remind one of the safest transportation systems in the world.
After you had eliminated the worst flight company from your newspaper research, you can start compare price between few of the companies. Just go to Google, type the company name and you should find their web site in manner of seconds. If you looking for ticket long in advance (let's say more than three weeks), you will find that most of ticket have similar quotes with the international and most reputed national company.....Garuda Indonesia. And that's the problem in Indonesia if you want to order domestic flight more than three weeks in advance...No cheap airfare ticket available. Obviously there is another way to find cheap domestic ticket plane if you want to order you ticket long time in advance. You can use Air Asia. They have very cheap airfare and good website. This is a service from Malaysia, and they provide many other cities and countries around Asia. A really good solution for Cheap Asia Travel.
In Indonesia, AirAsia only deserve the main cities such as Jakarta, Denpasar (Bali), Medan, Surabaya, etc... Globally, they fly over fifty cities around Asia. The service is limited (no seat pre-reserved in check-in), but it is safe and their fees really defy all concurrences for this range and types of services. They really get the Cheapest Flight in Asia I have seen so far. In Australia, it seems to works mostly like in the others western countries. More you booked in advance more chances you have to get a cheap airfare. I heard Quantas have some interesting packages available, like you buy a kind of atonement and can get great discount for a certain number of flight. If you need a lot of flights it could be advantageous. But the cheapest way to buy airline ticket is probably to book online with Blue Virgin or Jet Star. Sometimes, its worse make some deep research to get better fee. For sample, once I was looking for a cheap airfare between Sydney and Darwin. Blue Virgin offered 450 AUD (via Brisbanne) and Jet Star doesn't have this possibility. But when I check more deeply some others cities, I found out that I can get Sydney-Adelaide for 99AUD and Adelaide-Darwin for 167 AUD with Jet Star. Total 266 AUD. I just saved 184 AUD. Sometimes you will find better price with Blue Virgin. It all depends of the availability. So good search and good luck.
By the way, JetStar also provide some of the Asia Cheapest Flight as they deserve many others country such as Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, etc...

Easy Mental Math

The problem is quite simple: you have a bunch of items, most of which are priced below USD 100, and you want to know how much they're worth all-in-all. In short, you need to do some mental addition. Some people tend to shy away from this because they think is something that would require a Nobel laureate. However, that is absolutely not the case.
Okay, let's start with simple addition of two-digit numbers. Any two-digit number comes in the form XY, where X is the first digit and Y is the second. Now, suppose we have two 2-digit numbers that we need to add: XY and ST. Sounds tricky? Here's a concrete example.

Download Exam Drill of Mathematics for Senior High School

Let's Get it On!
If a big bag of peanuts costs USD 27 and a pound of high-quality lettuce costs USD 16, then let's try to get the total amount.
Here's a quick rundown of what you would do.
1: Problem: 27 + 16
2: Split: (20 + 6) + (10 + 6)
3: Rearrange: (20 + 10) + (7 + 6)
4: Add: (30) + 13
If you would have to work on multiple numbers, the process is the same - except that you can choose to add the first two items first, and add the third item to the sum of the first two. Here's a quick example.
Not Just Two Pieces?
Suppose we also threw in a bottle of mayonnaise worth USD 12 to the bag of peanuts and the lettuce.
We first add the peanuts and lettuce, which gets us USD 43. 1: Problem: 43 + 12
2: Split: (40 + 3) + (10 + 2)
3: Rearrange: (40 + 10) + (3 + 2)
4: Add: (50) + 5
Note that the decimal places (that is, the "cents" part of the price tag) was not included in this calculation. If we included it then it would be too complicated. However, what you can do to compensate for the inaccuracy is to round the price up to the nearest whole number. For example, if the price of mayonnaise is USD 12.55, then round it up to USD 13.
As you add more and more stuff into your shopping cart, just do the same process over and over. You'll be surprised that after a little bit of practice (which takes less than 20 minutes), you'll feel like you're just one exam short of being a rocket scientist!

Lessons From Dynamic English

>> Monday, January 17, 2011

Back in 1983, I was hired to teach English in rural northern Japan. I had no experience teaching, and didn't speak a work of Japanese.
No matter--I had the requisite four-year college degree and a thirst for adventure.
My employer/boss/teaching partner was Grif Frost, a 27-year-old budding entrepreneur who had married the Japanese exchange student who had once lived with his family. He ended up living near his wife's parents in Mutsu, and did what any self-respecting
English-speaking person did in Japan in 1982--he started an English school.

Download Junior High School Exam Drill for English

Now, Grif had no experience teaching, either. He had a master's in International Management and a couple of toddlers at home. Without training, he developed an approach he called "Dynamic English"--a high-energy, full-body, take-no-prisoners form of English as pure entertainment. He focused on presenting classes that were "Fast, Fun and Friendly", and was notorious for his colorful puppets, loud singing, dramatic storytelling, and excessive sweating.
In one memorable moment, I was spreading my arms wide to demonstrate the concept of "big" when my blouse burst open. Talk about a visual aid!
We became something like rock stars among the kindergarten children. Imagine a hundred Japanese five-year-olds seeing big white Americans with squeaky oversized plastic mallets (great for elimination during "Simon Says"), an overflowing bag of what looked suspiciously like toys, and boisterous "Good Morning!" greetings. The kids would literally fall over laughing at our stunts, and never got tired of our silly songs and wild games.
We were doing what came naturally--fully engaging the students in a way that created real awareness of language, objects, directions, shapes, colors, and verbal and musical sounds. Our older students were thrilled with this active approach, so different from the "This is a pen" lessons they'd chanted in their mandatory English classes in middle school. By providing new triggers, surprising methods, and hilarious material, we were offering novel stimuli, fresh perspective, and 100% focus on the present.
Little did we know that a Harvard psychologist would later describe these same characteristics as essential for mindful learning! Dr. Ellen Langer, author of The Power of Mindful Learning, talks about the importance of being open to novelty, drawing distinctions, being aware of differing contexts and perspectives, and orienting in the present.
Learning a language can be incredibly tedious or outrageously active and exciting. We played with English and our students not only learned the lessons quickly but laughed heartily, burned calories, and created a whole new mindset about what it takes to learn something new.
Grif relied on mindful learning in developing his approach to teaching English--he was completely open from the beginning, and was never hampered by ideas of what teaching should look like.
He was creative about using games and songs he'd loved as a kid and turning them into fresh and powerful tools for teaching. He shifted the lesson plans when dealing with various age groups and English levels, and constantly improved his approach by paying attention to the responses and being fearless about making changes and trying out new ideas.
Instead of sticking with the meditation lesson plan, I've opted for the excitement of learning mindfulness in a way that is thoroughly engaging and surprisingly active. In fact, the basic guidelines for Real-World Mindfulness Training are remarkably similar to those for Dynamic English:
* Stay open to new things--including your approach to learning in general.
* Look for subtle differences in similar objects or ideas.
* Discover new uses for old tools.
* Explore shifting perspectives.
* Shake up stale notions.
* Engage all senses.
* Get physical whenever possible.
* Jump into the moment wholeheartedly.
* Be sure to have fun every single day.
Whether you're learning a language or developing mindfulness, the key is this: keep it dynamic.
And never underestimate the value of large squeaky plastic mallets.

Buying The Best Furniture For School Laboratory

Buying furniture for a high school science laboratory involves watchful consideration of the sort of experiments which will be carried on there. In addition, the requirements of the students must be regarded who will be using the laboratory. For instance, a science laboratory that is designed to endorse learning through teamwork needs science tables to facilitate multiple students. In the same way, personal tables are ideal for science laboratories that are made for sustaining independent learning.

Download Junior High School Exam Drill for Natural Science

Seating
Seating is an important element of the furniture of a high school science laboratory. It comprises of chairs and stools that are well-suited with the tables. Even though most of the students prefer to stand during experiments, majority of the science laboratories consist of an instructional part for the period of sitting while the teacher is giving a lesson. Other furnishing elements in a science lab involve precise requirements of the school, for example storage units and shelving.
Science Tables
Science tables are available in an array of diverse styles and dimensions. These tables offer a wide surface area that is perfect for conducting experiments (although the dimensions of the tabletop may disagree). Standard size of a science table is typically 24"x48" to 24"x60". This size may vary significantly, however. Usually big tables are perfect for multiple use. On the other hand, small tables are functional for separate laboratories.
Another important consideration is to evaluate the material used in the science tables. Ideal surface in science table should be both chemical as well as fire-retardant. It helps defending the students and furniture against potential accidents.
Storage space, a sink, wheels and overhead storage are other important aspects of a science table.
Important Considerations for Middle School Science Laboratory Furniture
The fundamental requirements of a middle school science laboratory are same as those for a high school. It is essential however to cautiously regard the average height of the students while buying science laboratory furniture for a middle school. Typically middle school students feel comfortable in utilizing furniture that is designed for adults. However if the middle school science laboratory is intended to be used by grade six student, it is recommended to purchase small-scale furniture accordingly. Laboratory table accessories such as stools and chairs should be hard-wearing, durable and storage areas must be easy-to-use for middle school students.
Where to Buy School Laboratory Furniture
You can buy school laboratory furniture from a conventional furniture store near you or via online. Another good idea is directly buying used furniture from schools that are renovating their laboratories. However you need to ensure that the furniture bought is not broken, outmoded or old-fashioned. Remember, the role of the laboratory is central in the contemporaneity as well as repute of your school.

Simply talking about that newly learned basic fraction concept or that right triangle question with another 6th grade math student would help your understanding.
Ask other students when you feel confused. When you are confused about a simple algebra equation or an inequality with absolute value, asking other math students can help you understand. Learning from your classmates is the best way, since adult explanations are often complex and, sometimes, superfluous.
Asking questions is active participation. In developing an understanding of fundamental concepts, 6th grade math students should always ask questions about confusing math concepts that they do not understand.
Actively asking your questions can greatly reduce your inner anxiety. Simply knowing that other 6th grade math students around you care about your learning helps to motivate you and boosts your math confidence. No longer should you think that math is a dry and lonesome subject.
Start a habit of completing all homework assignments and checking them
Middle school math follows the same concept. 6th grade math students should allot time at home to practice homework problems.
Early on in elementary school, there might not be math homework for majority of the week. But, middle school math covers a broader scope of knowledge so that middle school math teachers assign more homework problems.
6th grade math students should start a habit of setting aside a certain amount of time everyday to complete math homework. At first, the increasing number of math homework problems may seem daunting.
I remember how much I had protested for playtime during my early middle school years... My mom and dad would listen to me but explain just how important completing my math homework is.
Missing a day or two might not be a big deal, but it hurts in the long run. If you do not develop a proper doing-math-homework time, then, most likely than not, you will never be able to catch up on or understand new math materials.
Seeing other 6th grade math students succeed while you fall behind depletes your math confidence.
Through continuous practice of those math homework problems, you will solve similar math problems more quickly. Speed matters most on getting a high score on your math test. Prepare early for math tests. Study small chunks of math materials/notes each day.
Studying requires the proper distribution of work. Cramming is an ineffective study technique. Middle school math students who cram for a math test cannot commit the essential algebra equations or the geometry formulas into their memory.
Ineffective memorization comes back to haunt the students later on. They will have trouble recalling what they have learned on cumulative math exams or in higher-level math courses. Persistent cramming can increase the math students' stress and anxiety. Not willing to change their studying techniques, these middle school math students feel more pressured in studying and less confident to do well.
