When taking the math portion, it is important to follow the instructions and pay close attention to what is being asked in each question. Here is an example of a question you might see on the exam.
4 team members of the traffic enforcement division issued several moving violations over a one week period.
Officer Todd issued 12 tickets.
Officer Allen issued 135 tickets.
Officer Bruno issued 40 moving violations.
Officer Thomas issued 65 moving violations.
How many citations were issued by the two traffic enforcement officers writing the least moving violations that week?
(A) 77
(B) 105
(C) 145
(D) 52
The answer is D. 40 + 12 = 52.
As you can see, the math portion is not difficult, it just needs to have attention paid to it. So, by reading the instructions and the questions carefully, you are more likely to succeed.
